Inter have reportedly agreed a new deal with Lazio to purchase Francesco Acerbi outright after his loan spell.

The veteran centre-back was brought in on loan last summer to reunite with coach Simone Inzaghi, who had worked with him for many years at the Stadio Olimpico.

It had originally been a loan with option to buy for €3.5m, but the Nerazzurri were eager to negotiate that down for the 35-year-old.

According to Goal.com, the new agreement has been struck at just €2m, a significant discount.

Lazio were also backed into a corner, knowing that Acerbi could not return to the club because of the extremely tense rapport with the local ultras.

Acerbi has been a key figure in this campaign for Inter, making 47 competitive appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist on their way to winning the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana, as well as reaching the Champions League Final against Manchester City on June 10.
