President Erick Thohir says Inter must find a stadium solution “otherwise we’ll lose €20m in profit”.

The Nerazzurri share Stadio Giuseppe Meazza with city rivals Milan, who were planning to move out and build their own ground in the Portello area of the city.

However, President Silvio Berlusconi abandoned that plan due to spiralling costs, and the pair must now find a way to maximise revenue from San Siro.

“The stadium is important for us,” Thohir assured at a Press conference to confirm a sponsorship renewal with Pirelli.

“If you look at future revenue, the stadium is very important, just look at what Juventus make with ticket sales. Both Milan clubs are working to improve the stadium, otherwise we’ll lose €20m in profit.

“That’s why we want to go forward in agreement, we hope there will be some improvements in the next 15 days.

“We have to start as soon as possible though, and we can no longer think of a stadium all of our own.

“We have to find a solution which will make both teams happy.”
