Italian international Criscito signed a new contract with Russian side Zenit St Petersburg this month, but Andrea D’Amico reveals two clubs tried to lure him back to Serie A.

“He had many admirers in Italy,” the player’s representative explained in an interview with Sky.

“Inter and Napoli wanted him, but there weren’t the sporting or economic conditions for him to return to Italy.”

D’Amico also represents forward Sebastian Giovinco, and gave an update on his client’s new life in Canada with Toronto FC.

“He’s doing very well in Toronto, he’s happy and he’s found a group of Italians who are helping him to integrate.

“MLS is growing, personally I’m very curious to see [David] Beckham’s new [Miami] franchise.”
