The Nerazzurri will try and defend their first place in Serie A with a win at 11:30a.m. UK time, but Coach Eusebio Di Francesco's team make for a tough contender among the mid-table teams.

“Winning tomorrow is important for us to stay first, we want to keep up the positive streak after Empoli,” he said in today's Press conference. “Jovetic didn't play out of a tactical decision, but he must keep up what he's doing.

“Our 1-0 wins? I have to look at the substance too, sometimes it's best to play well and win. In an ideal world we'd always play well, but sometimes it's best to be careful.

“The most important thing in a game is to have intelligent people, even though a disagreement every now and then can happen. It happens when you have children, so of course it's going to happen with a numerous group. But from a human point of view it's the best team I ever coached.

“I try to make the best decisions but there haven't been many changes [in the formation]. What matters is the result.

“Perhaps it's true that in Italy you win when you take no goals, but we should be scoring more as well.”

Il Mancio was then asked whether it was time for a judgment on summer signing Geoffrey Kondogbia.

“Until he slowed down in Empoli, he did well. I think he's in a really positive moment and he'll be important for us.

“As for tomorrow's game, making some mistakes in the championship is normal, but what matters is picking yourself up again quickly and winning several games.

“I hope the team figured out the levels of concentration required, and that you must never leave things to chance. We can't afford to let our focus slip.

“We just played three similar games, against teams that are in a good moment. We had to give it all, but tomorrow's game is no different. As I said, maximum concentration and attention to detail are the secret.”
