Inter Coach Walter Mazzarri has warned that the Nerazzurri must take Saint-Etienne seriously when the two meet at San Siro tomorrow.
Saint-Etienne, who sit fifth in the Ligue 1 and have begun their Europa League campaign with consecutive goalless draws, are a team Mazzarri insists must be respected.
“We’ve studied them,” the Coach has told today’s Press conference ahead of the game.
“They’re having a very good season, in a league with many big teams.
“They’re a team to be respected, like everyone else at this level.”
Mazzarri also reflected on the Saint-Etienne teams of the 1960s and 1970s when Les Verts reached the European Cup Final, and called on his players to continue the form showed in the weekend’s 2-2 draw with Napoli.
“It was a long time ago, but it’s a prestigious club.
“It’s an exciting game for us, we want to continue to do what we did against Napoli.
“The results are caused by incidents within the game, but I want to see a certain tactical and psychological attitude from the players who take the field.”
