The Nerazzurri crashed out of the Europa League after a disappointing 5-2 aggregate defeat against Wolfsburg.

On from his admission that Inter fans were 'right to jeer', Mancini analysed the aftermath of the game in an interview with Inter Channel.

“We must be more cynical because had we scored a goal the fans would have driven us on,” he said.

“The goal on the 1-1 should have pushed us to score again, instead we were given very little.

“Now we must all earn staying at Inter. We have to do well.

“The club doesn't deserve nights like these. We dropped too low in these last few weeks.

“On Sunday against Sampdoria it won't be easy, but we have to give everything we've got.

“It's right for the tifosi to boo us,” he said again. “This was the night for us to give them a small satisfaction, but we couldn't do that.

“Now let's pull our sleeves back with a view of the 11 games left from here until the end.”

Midfielder Hernanes said after the game that the team lacked humility, but Mancini went a step beyond.

“We need more humility but not just that. Sometimes in games like these you've got to play with your heart and I don't think we did.”
