Inter are not far away from reaching a final agreement with Bologna for the transfer of striker Marko Arnautovic according to Sunday afternoon’s reports from transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Nerazzurri have taken big steps over the course of the last few days as reported by Di Marzio, and could reach an official agreement in the coming days.

It is believed that the total package will cost Inter around €10m, made up of a guaranteed €8m plus €2m in ‘easily achievable’ add-ons.

It would be a San Siro return for Arnautovic, who was part of the treble-winning squad under Jose Mourinho in 2010, albeit on a loan deal from FC Twente at the time.

Inter have been looking to bring in a new striker for the last few weeks, having parted company with Edin Dzeko at the end of the 2022-23 campaign and following the breakdown in relations with last season’s loanee Romelu Lukaku.

Marcus Thuram has been brought in on a free transfer, but the Nerazzurri are still down a senior centre-forward from last year.

If reports are to believed, Arnautovic is “very close” to filling the vacant striker position in Simone Inzaghi’s team.
