La Repubblica has gone one step further, writing how a ‘general agreement’ was reached between the Nerazzurri and the Belgian’s representatives this week.
The two newspapers agree the 33-year-old’s arrival on a free transfer will effectively pave the way for Lautaro Martinez to join Barcelona.
That is because he would slot straight into the Beneamata’s attack, alongside compatriot Romelu Lukaku.
On the other hand, Inter will not be able to cash in on Perisic any time soon.
That is because, reports Sky Sport Italia, Bayern have missed the deadline to take up their €20m option to turn the winger’s loan move permanent.
However, the broadcaster assures the German giants have asked for more time, owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite that, it is warned Inter are unwilling to accept anything less for the Croat, who has five goals and eight assists in 22 games this season.
