Multiple reports in Italy confirm Romelu Lukaku’s new representative Sebastien Ledure will meet Inter today, but the two parties must convince Chelsea to loan the striker out.

The Belgian star is determined to return to Inter and Gazzetta, Corriere and Tuttosport report his new representative, Ledure, will meet the Serie A giants today.

According to all the reports, Lukaku is ready to take a 50% pay cut to return to his former club. However, Inter’s financial issues make it impossible for the Nerazzurri to re-sign the striker one year after his €113m move to Chelsea, so they can only welcome him back on loan and that’s the tricky part of the deal.

Inter must convince the Premier League giants to loan the player out for one season and are in a hurry to do so because they can benefit from the growth decree only until the end of the financial year in June.

The Serie A giants are also in talks with Paulo Dybala, who can join the club as a free agent. If both the Argentinean and Lukaku sign with Inter, the club will then listen to offers for Lautaro Martinez during the summer.

  1. I repeat, there is no such thing as growth decree for Lukaku – as he was only paying taxes outside Italy for 1 year, not 2.

  2. It would be
necessary to deposit an agreement between Inter and Lukaku by 30 June: in this case, the player would have effectively left Italy and would have returned in the same season, without losing the benefits he enjoyed at the time in which – in the summer of 2019 – he left Manchester for Milan.
Furthermore, Lukaku has maintained his domicile in Milan over the past year.

But it seems difficult to find a deal with Chelsea who spent € 113m a few months ago..
