Inter directors met with Emerson Royal’s agent today, fuelling reports the Barcelona man is the natural heir to Achraf Hakimi.

The Nerazzurri need to sell someone by June 30 to raise funds and Hakimi seems to be the favourite, at the centre of a bidding war between PSG and Chelsea.

The asking price is €80m and so far the offers have been €60m, with Inter seeking cash rather than player exchanges.

Meanwhile, they are hard at work on finding his replacement and Emerson Royal remains the first choice.

Sky Sport Italia spotted the 22-year-old Brazilian’s agent Frederic Pena at the Inter headquarters this afternoon.

Emerson Royal spent the last two seasons at Real Betis at a cost of €6m, but Barcelona brought him back to base this summer by exercising the €9m option.

He scored two goals and provided four assists in 38 competitive games this season.
