La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Inter and Chelsea’s directors met on Wednesday to discuss a potential swap deal for André Onana with the Nerazzurri who would get Trevoh Chalobah or Ruben Loftus-Cheek rather than Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Onana has emerged as Chelsea’s priority target for 2023-24 and have reportedly started negotiations with the Nerazzurri.

According to Gazzetta, club directors met on Wednesday in Milan, where the Nerazzurri informed the Blues about their asking price for the goalkeeper, which is around €40m.

The Blues want to include Kepa in a player-plus-cash swap deal, but Inter are not interested in the Spanish keeper. Instead, they’d be open to involving Chalobah or Loftus-Cheek in negotiations with the Blues.

The England centre-back would replace Milan Skriniar at the Stadio Meazza, with the Slovakia international destined to join PSG as a free agent at the end of the season.

Talks are still at a preliminary stage, but Inter are aware of Chelsea’s strong interest in Onana, who moved to the Stadio Meazza on a free transfer from Ajax last summer.

If the Cameroon international joins the Blues, Empoli‘s Guglielmo Vicario will become their priority target for the goal in next season.
