Inter have officially named former AlbinoLeffe and Livorno boss Armando Madonna as their new Primavera Coach.

A statement on Inter’s official website confirms Madonna has signed a contract until the end of next season.

The 54-year-old has big shoes to fill, with predecessor Stefano Vecchi – now in charge of Serie B side Venezia – taking the Nerazzurri’s youth team to a League, Cup and Supercoppa treble last term.

Madonna is best known for his association with northern outfit Virtus Bergamo, formerly known as Alzano.

As a player, he was instrumental in their historic promotion to Serie B in 1998, while he has coached them in Serie D for the past three campaigns.
