Inter have so far earned €40.7m from their Champions League run, but they could earn an extra sum, with a minimum of €3.4m to €5.4m depending on how long Juventus, Napoli and Atalanta last in the competition.

The financial website reports that it would take Inter to go all the way in the Europa League and to play in the European Super Cup to recuperate the money lost by being knocked out by Barca last night.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri drew a total of 71,818 fans to San Siro for yesterday’s game against the Catalan giants.

The Corriere dello Sport reports that this led to the club earning €7.8m in total matchday revenue, including hospitality and VIP boxes.

This is an Italian record, beating the previous record held by Inter and Juventus in October, which garnered €6.5m from a crowd of 75,923.
