Inter now have Andre Onana as their first choice goalkeeper, but are looking to Yann Sommer and Altay Bayindir to be his understudy next season.

Cameroon international Onana arrived as a free agent from Ajax and following an initial settling in period, he took over from Samir Handanovic between the posts.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the plan is for Inter to replace Handanovic with another low-cost figure next season.

Sommer is still at the World Cup with Switzerland, turns 34 later this month and will be a free agent when his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach expires in June 2023.

He is most famous in Italy for being in goal when Switzerland survived two late Jorginho penalties in the World Cup qualifiers.

As for Bayindir, he is only 24 and has five senior caps for Turkey, but his contract with Fenerbahce is running down at the end of the season.
