Inter have reportedly turned their attention towards PSG man Jeremy Menez, although Ruben Botta still looks likely to join despite a devastating injury.

The Nerazzurri had thought they’d secured a strong attacking midfielder for next season in Tigre star Botta, but he has been ruled out for six months after snapping knee ligaments.

There are therefore rumours they’re looking elsewhere for an alternative and the Corriere dello Sport suggests the new target is Menez.

He has Serie A experience thanks to his time at Roma and his contract with PSG expires in June 2014, so the Frenchman could be available for under €8m.

However, Botta’s father told Argentine television that Inter are not put off by the injury.

“Inter called today and confirmed Ruben’s transfer will be completed next month, as agreed. It is an incentive to let him know that none of it is up for debate.

“Ruben was very sad after learning of the diagnosis, but he’s already feeling better and is concentrated on the recovery process.”
