Inter legend Alessandro Altobelli said his former club offloading Milan Skriniar and Denzel Dumfries to make way for Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala is a sacrifice worth making.
Dybala is available on a free transfer and following a recent meeting between his agent and the club appears to be on the brink of joining the Nerazzurri, who will need to let at least one first-team player leave this summer due to their precarious financial situation.
Inter are also looking to bring in Lukaku, who is pushing for a return after a difficult season with Chelsea, and Altobelli is excited at the prospect of the two playing alongside Lautaro Martinez.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: “It would be a dream forward line. Who wouldn’t want it? [Coach Simone] Inzaghi would have the chance to rotate three incredible attackers as well as use them together, even that would be mean not utilising one of the three central midfielders.
“Dybala could drop back into the trequartista role on out wide in a 3-4-3 with Lukaku in the middle and Lautaro on the opposite wing.”
Chelsea are reportedly interested in Dumfries, while Paris Saint-Germain are looking at Skriniar and Alotebelli said if the duo leaving made way for a forward line of Dybala, Lukaku and Martinez, it would be worth it.
Asked about the potential departure of Dumfries, Altobelli said: “With a heavy heart, the Dutchman is expendable. Then it would be up to the transfer guys to find a replacement at his level.
“If you look back and remember the headlines when [Achraf] Hakimi left…”
Altobelli was equally accepting of any exit for Skriniar, adding: “With Bremer we would be fine.”
Torino‘s Bremer was named Serie A’s Best Defender for 2021-22 and has been heavily linked with a move to Inter.

I don’t know about Dumfries or Martinez, but Inter will regret selling Skriniar.
Sell De Vrij. He wants to go. And we’d still get over €20M for him. Focus on selling him. As much as I like Dumfries, he’s one of the more replaceable players in our squad

But Inter MUST KEEP Skrinjair Bastoni and Sanchez.
Sanchez is an excellent forward reserve for Inter. He got really important goals this year.
