Inter are reportedly ready to end their partnership with main shirt sponsor DigitalBits after delayed payments and a lack of communication from the cryptocurrency outlet.

The Nerazzurri ended their 26-year partnership with long-term sponsors Pirelli in 2021, replacing them with NFT platform Socios. DigitalBits were the sleeve sponsors that season, and Calcio e Finanza details how this is where the problems initially arose. The company failed to pay Inter the Champions League qualification bonus last season, but still became main shirt sponsors.

The deal with Inter started at €23m this season, rising to €27m and €30m over the next two years. The first payment for this year has not been made yet and no official stance has been taken from the cryptocurrency outfit, leaving the Nerazzurri in the dark.

Some light has been shed on the issue from DigitalBits’ official Telegram group, where an administrator allegedly noted that “these are just rumours, the logo is still on the shirts. There is no problem with any partnership, just spreading rumours here.”

Inter have made it clear that they’re ready to terminate the partnership at the end of this month, should no payment or explanation arrive.
