Inter forward Lautaro Martinez reportedly apologised to his teammates and coach Antonio Conte for yesterday’s outburst.

The Argentine had a heated argument with his coach after being substituted in the 77th minute.

Lautaro had replaced injured Alexis Sanchez after 35 minutes and the coach didn’t like the 23-year-old’s attitude during the game and decided to bring him off towards the end.

Assistant coach Cristian Stellini explained that the striker’s behaviour will not be tolerated but stressed 'it’s all in the past' immediately after the final whistle.

All eyes were on Lautaro after the game, but the attacker seemed at ease when he spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the game and looked forward to travelling to Juventus as Italian champions this weekend.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Lautaro apologised immediately to everyone, and the newspaper claims the atmosphere at Appiano between players and coaches is serene.

After training today, a barbecue for the team will be held in the Inter sports centre and Lautaro himself will reportedly oversee the grill.

Another case emerged last night, as forward Romelu Lukaku was caught celebrating his birthday in a hotel in Milan and seems set to face sanctions for breaking the COVID protocol.
