Inter are reportedly keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund and Germany attacker Mario Gotze.

Gotze is out of contract at the end of the season, making him available for nothing next summer as it stands, and Welt warns negotiations over an extension are ‘not progressing’.

As per the German outlet, that is partly because the 27-year-old is considering moving abroad, with Inter monitoring his situation.

It comes after Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Nerazzurri had made contact with Dortmund over a late summer swoop.

As per the German outlet, that is partly because the 27-year-old is considering moving abroad, with Inter monitoring his situation.

It comes after Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Nerazzurri had made contact with Dortmund over a late summer swoop.

Big things were expected of Gotze when he was younger as he scored the goal that crowned Germany world champions in 2014 and earned a €37m move to Bayern Munich.

However, he has since returned to BVB and played just 23 minutes of competitive football this season.

His career has also been affected by myopathy, which ruled him for several months in 2017.

Nonetheless, he remains a versatile option who can play through the middle as a No 10 or second striker, as well as on the left wing.
