Inter are keen to pick up Jordan Veretout but Roma’s high price tag is holding them back ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri are keen to strengthen the midfield available to coach Simone Inzaghi, who will lose both Matias Vecino and Arturo Vidal at the end of this campaign, when the former’s contract expires and the latter prepares for a transfer.

As reported by Tuttosport, Inter are fans of the 29-year-old Veretout, but Roma want €15m for the French midfielder, a figure that is currently forcing the Nerazzurri to stay back. Napoli are also reportedly keen on the Frenchman.

A cheaper option for Inter is 27-year-old Portuguese midfielder Xeka, whose only costs would be the agent commissions, which could be high as he’s leaving Lille on a free transfer in June.

The 29-year-old Veretout, who joined Roma in 2019 from Fiorentina, has made 39 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2650 minutes. In that time, he has scored four goals and provided nine assists.
