Inter and Juventus are gearing up to fight for Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson, who could be snapped up in a deal similar to the one that brought Sandro Tonali to Milan.

The 27-year-old Icelandic forward seems destined to leave the Rossoblu in the coming weeks, having shined last season with 14 goals and four assists across 35 matches. He is expected to cost at least €30m, the price floated to Fiorentina back in January.

In the background, Gudmundsson is at the centre of a serious legal case in Iceland, where he’s been accused of sexual assault by a woman he met in a Reykjavik night club. Following an appeal from the victim, the case has been reopened and charges are now expected to be filed.

Inter and Juventus fight for Gudmundsson

Sky Sports Italia details how Inter and Juventus are both studying realistic ways to sign Gudmundsson this summer and have started considering setting up a deal similar to the one that saw Tonali leave Brescia for Milan.

The Rossoneri paid €10m for the loan and had a €15m buy option attached, a way to spread the costs that could be used by the Nerazzurri and Bianconeri.
