Juventus have now confirmed their spot in the upcoming Club World Cup, joining Inter and 30 other clubs in FIFA’s revamped club competition.

The tournament, initially founded in 2000, has been entirely updated by FIFA ahead of the 2025 edition, with the governing body changing it from the seven confederation winners and tournament hosts to a 32-team affair involving teams across the world.

Hosted in the United States as a prelude to the 2026 World Cup, the 32 participating teams will be divided into eight groups of four, with the top two of each moving onto the knockout stages. It will last around one month from June to July, after the conclusion of the 2024-25 regular season.

Participating in the new Club World Cup brings significant financial benefits, with teams earning a minimum of €50m just for taking part. The total prize pool sits at over €2.5 billion and the winners will receive around €100m.

Club World Cup participants:

  • Four from Asia’s AFC – Urawa Red Diamonds, Al-Hilal and two open slots
