Inter coach Simone Inzaghi was present for an introductory meeting with the club’s new owners Oaktree on Tuesday afternoon, and the parties are due to meet again in the near future to discuss a possible contract extension, according to recent updates from Italy.

Oaktree took over from Inter’s previous custodians Suning Holdings and former club President Steven Zhang last Wednesday after the former owners failed to make good on their loan repayments totalling a reported sum of €395m.

With Oaktree now in full control of the club, business must continue, and Inzaghi has several pressing issues to discuss, including his own future, contract extensions for a number of key players as well as the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Inzaghi and the Oaktree representatives did not discuss in-depth transfer plans during their meeting on Tuesday, but the two parties did reportedly discuss their respective needs for the coming months.

When Inzaghi will next meet with the new Inter owners

Oaktree, specifically directors Alejandro Cano, Katherine Ralph and Renato Meduri, paid their compliments to Inzaghi and Inter delegates Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin for the team’s successes on the pitch over the last two years.

A new round of discussions have been scheduled for next week, again at Inter HQ, where Inzaghi’s agent Tullio Tinti will also be present.

It is believed that they will hold in-depth discussions about a possible contract extension, as Inzaghi’s current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, in the summer of 2025.
