Inter are gearing up for a crucial clash with Walter Mazzarri’s Napoli and still cannot count on Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni.

The Nerazzurri only hold a two-point lead over rivals Juventus heading into the 14th matchday of the season, having failed to take a commanding lead after their 1-1 draw in the Derby d’Italia last weekend.

Simone Inzaghi heavily rotated his Inter squad for their Champions League draw with Benfica, keenly aware of the importance of their clash with Napoli, who have seemingly found a new lease of life after the dismissal of Rudi Garcia and arrival of Mazzarri.

As reported by TMW, Bastoni is still recovering from the calf injury he suffered at the Italy training camp and will not be available for Inter’s coming game with Napoli. He will slowly be reintroduced to on-pitch work in the coming days and will likely be in the squad to face Udinese on December 9.

Pavard recently took off his knee brace and has started running again, showing positive signs in his recovery. It’ll take around three weeks before he returns to the squad and the hope is that he’ll be fit to face Lecce on December 23.
