According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lucas Digne is open to joining Inter in January, but Everton’s demands have put negotiations on hold.
Digne, a former Roma defender, wants to leave Goodison Park in January as he is not on good terms with coach Rafa Benitez, an ex Inter and Napoli boss.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that both Inter and Napoli are interested in signing the France international, but the Nerazzurri seem to be in pole position to secure his services.
However, the Nerazzurri are interested in getting the player on loan with an option to buy, while Everton want an include an obligation to buy in the deal, meaning negotiations have now been put on hold.
Digne is open to joining Inter and the player’s agents are trying to help the two clubs reach an agreement.
The 28-year-old is not the only target for the Nerazzurri, who are looking for a potential replacement for Ivan Perisic.
The Croat is expected to leave the club at the end of his contract in June and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostić is also on Inter’s radars, although the Serbian is a more likely target for the summer.
