Inter are negotiating with agent Mino Raiola for Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram, claim Sky Sport Italia.

He brings the kind of versatility that would suit new coach Simone Inzaghi to replace Romelu Lukaku, rather than being a pure centre-forward.

The 24-year-old plays primarily on the left wing of attack, but can also work in the centre or on the right.

Pace and technique are his most important strengths, although he is also very tall and strong in the air too.

Thuram was born in Italy, as his father Lilian was playing for Parma at the time in August 1997, and he already has four senior caps for France.

There were 11 goals and 12 assists for the Bundesliga outfit in 40 competitive appearances last season.

His contract with Borussia Monchengladbach runs to June 2023 and the asking price is likely to be in the region of €40m.

This is the same figure that Atalanta are demanding for Duvan Zapata, although La Dea won’t let the Colombian go without a suitable replacement.
