Inter have reportedly held talks with Steven Gerrard about a shock switch to the Nerazzurri for the ex-Liverpool and England midfielder.

According to the Independent, Inter are keen to bring in Gerrard until the end of the season, with the “idea of potentially retiring at one of Europe's grand football institutions” possibly appealing to the 36-year-old.

The newspaper credits the Beneamata with “boardroom-level” interest in Gerrard since the end of October, when Frank de Boer was still in charge.

However, Calciomercato.com adds he has “no intention” of hanging up his boots just yet.
