Inter are reportedly in talks over a shock move for Manchester United full-back Ashley Young.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims Inter are hoping to snap up Young in a cut-price deal this month, taking advantage of his expiring contract.

The 33-year-old will become a free agent in June as it stands, and Di Marzio notes a transfer is progressing so smoothly that it could close in a matter of hours.

As per the Sky Sport Italia journalist, the Nerazzurri are offering an 18-month contract and now only need to agree a fee.

Young could become the third player to swap Old Trafford for the blue half of San Siro this year after Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

He would appeal to Inter boss Antonio Conte through his versatility, which lets him play anywhere down either flank.

Despite being their captain, the Englishman missed United’s 3-1 League Cup defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday evening.
