Inter are hoping to see Denzel Dumfries put pen to paper on a new contract next week, but the club have identified a replacement should the Dutch wing back decide not to extend his stay.

The 28-year-old full back will return to the city of Milan on Saturday next week, where he’ll immediately meet with the Nerazzurri directors as they look to close the chapter on his contract renewal situation.

Inter have offered Dumfries a new three or four-year contract worth €4m net per season plus add-ons and would like to retain his services, but should he decide not to renew then they’d immediately look to sell to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

Page 20 of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Inter have identified Monaco’s Vanderson as an exciting option to bolster Simone Inzaghi’s squad should Dumfries be sold in the coming weeks.

The 23-year-old Brazilian full back has impressed both offensively and defensively and has an estimated price tag of around €20-25m. He was briefly targeted by Napoli before things went silent.
