Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic claims Inter and Mauro Icardi are both at fault for the ongoing saga between club and player.

The situation took another turn on Thursday as Inter boss Luciano Spalletti stated he no longer cared about Icardi, before the striker released his own statement, accusing the Nerazzurri of disrespect

“I don’t know what’s happened,” Mihajlovic, a former Beneamata defender and assistant, told Sky Sport Italia.

“Icardi was the captain and the one who always scored. I don’t know what the dynamics are, but there are experienced people at Inter like Marotta and Ausilio, Spalletti aside.

“The objective must always be for the good of Inter. All I can say is that Icardi is great player and I’d always like him on my team.

“After that things have to be managed, of course, but Inter have some competent guys working for them and they’ll know what to do.

“Maybe it would be a good idea for both sides to take a step back so they can bring clarity to the situation.

“It would be good for Inter and Icardi, but something will have to change, otherwise things wouldn’t have got to this.

“For me fault is always divided, like between husband and wife, and that’s why I believe that if both sides take a step back, the situation may resolve itself.”
