Federico Dimarco reportedly checked on a screen if Alessandro Bastoni had been fouled in the build-up of Real Sociedad’s opening goal against Inter but then shook his head informing a disappointed Simone Inzaghi.

The Nerazzurri conceded an early opener against La Liga side Real Sociedad in the first Champions League game of 2023-24 at Anoeta Stadium on Wednesday.

Alessandro Bastoni carried the ball for too long, letting Brais Mendez win possession right in front of Inter’s box and beat Yann Sommer with a right-footed finish at the near post.

Inter players didn’t even protest against the referee but, as reported by Amazon Prime Italia’s pitchside reporter Fernando Siani, Dimarco, who was sitting on the bench, watched the replay of the incident on a screen close to the Nerazzurri dug-out to see if his teammate had been fouled.

Inzaghi was standing still in front of the bench and Dimarco looked at him shaking his head as to say there was no foul on Bastoni.

The Italy left-back then tried to cheer up his teammates from the touchline as the game resumed.
