Inter are reportedly hoping that Croatia will not risk Marcelo Brozovic in the World Cup third place final after he picked up a muscular injury.

The midfielder limped off just five minutes into the second half of their 3-0 semi-final defeat to Argentina.

Coach Zlatko Dalic confirmed Brozovic felt a twinge on the back of his thigh and it was best not to push him in that situation.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Sport Mediaset, tests have shown it is not a major issue, but Inter are still worried that he could be risked from the start against Morocco and that could exacerbate the damage.

Brozovic had already missed all of October due to a muscular injury and only managed a couple of substitute appearances for his club in the build-up to the World Cup with Croatia.

The 30-year-old started all six of Croatia’s games at the tournament in Qatar and is one of the reasons why they have made it to the fight for third place.
