The Nerazzurri are seen as in continued work this summer to strengthen their playing squad over the summer, with midfield understood to be a priority area.

France international Yann M’Vila is believed to have agreed personal terms with the club after a recent visit to Milan and, on from calling it an ‘opportunity' earlier this week’ Inter’s sporting director has been more specific on progress.

“We are working with Rubin. Let’s say that for the start of preseason, the only one who could arrive is M’Vila,” Ausilio has told the Gazzetta dello Sport today.

“He has expressed a great satisfaction to the idea of being a part of the new project.

“Could we bring in two midfielders? We are not rushed – in my mind, if you do just one thing a month, but it is done well, that is better.

“We also need to take steps for the departures and first of all we need a substitute for Cambiasso.

“Mario Suarez and Alex Song? The first is non-transferable, we can’t talk about anything, as is the case for Song.

“Casemiro? He is an invalid opportunity. Mazzarri wants Behrami then? I have spoken with Napoli and proposed an exchange, but nothing has really been done.”

Ausilio, who also explained the situation with Walter Mazzarri’s proposed new contract, outlined where talks are currently with Porto over redeeming Rolando outright.

“Negotiations have stopped. With the player there is an agreement and we made an offer that we consider fair to Porto [believed to be €3.5m] for a 28-year-old defender who is due to expire in 2015.

“From this proposal we will not move.

“A renewal for Ranocchia? We will talk about it on his return from vacation.”

Speculation has been that the club are preparing a summer bid for Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez.

“We already have two prime punte in Icardi and Palacio, so it is difficult to look to a player with the characteristics of Hernandez, a seconda punta would be better.

“Lamela and Jovetic are not on the market, their clubs are not going to release them.

“Biabiany? We made a first attempt with Parma, but there is no update. Ibarbo? For his physicality and versatility, we like him.”
