With Juan Cuadrado expected to remain out of action for at least three months, Tajon Buchanan has emerged as Inter‘s priority for the January transfer window, but the Nerazzurri are also interested in a new striker and have been linked with Atalanta‘s Luis Muriel.

Inter must sign a new right wing-back next month as Cuadrado will undergo Achilles surgery in Finland today, remaining out of action for at least three months, reports Gazzetta.

The Nerazzurri’s priority for next month is to find a long-term replacement for the Colombian and Club Burgge’s Buchanan, 24, has emerged as their primary option.

Buchanan’s contract expires in June 2025 so Inter must negotiate with his club. Beppe Marotta reportedly wants a potential starter on the right wing also because talks to extend with Denzel Dumfries are ‘progressing slowly’, so the Dutchman may leave at the end of the season if he doesn’t pen a new deal.

Inter are also focusing on the attacking department due to recurrent injuries to Marko Arnautovic and Alexis Sanchez. According to Gazzetta, both Mehdi Taremi and Luis Muriel are potential targets for next summer when their contracts with Porto and Atalanta expire.

As of today, La Dea are unwilling to let Muriel leave in January, but Marotta will only discuss a deal for a new striker at the end of January after completing a new signing on the right flank.
