La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Inter have already made an offer to sign Barcelona and Chelsea target Marcus Thuram as a free agent in the summer.

The Nerazzurri are long-time admirers of the France international, who sees his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach expire at the end of the season.

Inter director Beppe Marotta was in talks with the Bundesliga side in the January transfer window, hoping to snatch the player on the cheap. He had offered the striker a €5m-a-year deal, which, according to Gazzetta, is still on the table.

Thuram is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with any other club, joining as a free agent at the end of the campaign. However, the son of legendary Serie A defender Lilian does not seem in a hurry to decide his next destination.

Chelsea have been mentioned among the clubs interested in Thuram, while Gazzetta claims Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are closely monitoring the situation but haven’t made an offer yet.

Thuram, 25, has scored 13 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions this season.

  1. That`s a huge salary for a player that only performed in Bundesliga. I believe Inter will get him on a free.

Any details about the signing on fee? 😉
