According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have given an ultimatum to Ivan Perisic and expect him to make a decision over his contract extension by the weekend, but the Croatia international has also received offers from aboard, probably from Chelsea and Newcastle.
Perisic’s contract runs out in the summer and the Serie A giants raised their offer during a meeting with the player’s agent yesterday.
Frane Jurcevic refused to rule out Perisic’s contract extension yesterday, but according to Gazzetta, he informed the club’s directors that he had received a higher offer from abroad.
Inter have offered Perisic a new €5m-a-year contract plus add-ons to reach €6m per year. However, the player’s representative informed the Nerazzurri that foreign clubs have offered the former Bayern Munich star a €6m-a-year contract plus add-ons.
Chelsea and Newcastle are believed to be interested in the 33-year-old, but Juventus have also made a similar offer to sign the winger on a free transfer.
Inter need to cut their wage bill by 15% but have still offered their star a pay rise, given that Perisic is on a €4.8m-a-year deal at the Stadio Meazza. The Nerazzurri expect a final decision from Perisic by the weekend.

Perisic is a hard worker who will give his all at the minimum. He helped Inter for years and his contract offer now shows that Inter want to keep him despite signing Gosens who was when fit one of the league best at his position. Inter will not get sucked into a drama when it’s not necessary so if he rejects the offer he can go elsewhere and Inter will always be grateful for his time at Inter. Considering players that will be leaving like Sanchez, Vidal, Dzeko, Vecino and possibly one big name player. Inter can afford to strengthen the squad even more and more trophies will come. The clubs that are linked with Perisic don’t come with the guarantee of winning more trophies at higher odds than Inter do. Although it’ll be nice to see Perisic in the EPL.
Just go to the better clubs, Perisic.
@soloInter: I agree with most of the part, however the club is currently not in the financial position to spend. Remember the objective set by the ownership is to generate +70M this summer as well, which means player sales and others leaving on a free.
Sure Gosens has been signed but you need competition, so in case Ivan leaves, ideally Kostic might be re-considered. Given the economic limitations rather cheaper options like Cambiaso/Parisi.

Agreed and I add Kolarov who had a high salary will decrese the amount of salary charges.
