According to the latest reports, Inter will be able to sign Edin Dzeko from Roma for under €2m, with Duvan Zapata able to leave Atalanta for €40m.

The low figures are because Dzeko is in the final year of his contract at the Stadio Olimpico, which is worth circa €7.5m per season in wages.

The Corriere dello Sport maintains Roma had promised to let the Bosnia international leave this summer practically for free if the right proposal arrived.

That has come in the form of Scudetto-winners Inter, who need more than one striker to replace Romelu Lukaku, who is heading towards Chelsea for €115m.

The minimal fee is expected to be circa €1.8m, just enough to ensure Roma aren’t making a loss on Dzeko’s tenure at the club.

When Inter and Juventus had approached Roma for Dzeko last summer, the request was closer to €12-15m.

Dzeko is expected to be given a two-year contract at San Siro, worth €6m per season.

As for Duvan Zapata, Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà maintains a basic deal has been struck between Inter and Atalanta for a €40m fee.

They just need to wait for La Dea to find a suitable replacement before completing the transfer.

In both cases, these moves will enable Inter to save enough money in order to invest the rest in Denzel Dumfries from PSV Eindhoven.
