Inter and Genoa could clash over Diego Laxalt, currently on loan to the Grifone but wanted by both teams.

The Uruguayan 22-year-old, who scored two goals yesterday against Torino, could be signed permanently by his current team should his €2.5m purchase clause be actioned.

However Inter included a counter-purchase clause of their own when making the deal for Laxalt's loan to Genoa.

The two teams could come to a head in the next transfer window. In the meantime his agent Vincenzo D'Ippolito praised the player's qualities.

“Even in his debut against Milan he scored two goals, he either scores a brace or nothing at all!” he told Tuttomercatoweb.

“With [Stefano] Pioli he had six excellent months at Empoli. They ended up preferring the more experienced players, but now Genoa believe in him.

“His future? The Grifone have a purchase clause with inter, who thought up a counter-purchase clause on account of the great value they place on the player.

“They're showing that they believe in him. His best quality is that he's always ready, even at the 94'.

“He's always there to help his teammates. He has great human qualities and this is very important in football. It gives me high hopes for his career.”
