The Nerazzurri are looking for a central defender to provide backup for Jeison Murillo and Miranda, and with the big teams in Italy closed for business in that department, they are turning their eyes abroad.

According to Tuttosport, they have three primary objectives. Zenit's Garay is a long-term target, whilst Mangala is a new option, although he has been excluded from the Citizens' Champions League list and could very well be on the way out.

Milan have also been offered Mangala, so the deal with Pep Guardiola's club may turn into a market derby.

Finally, the Biscione may be after Danny Blind, although Manchester United so far have given little indication that they mean to sell him.
