‘Inter following Podolski’

Roberto Mancini admits that Inter are interested in signing Lukas Podolski, and says he’s not angry about being rejected by Alessio Cerci.

The Nerazzurri are in the market for an attacking player, and look to be on the verge of completing a move for the German international, after missing out on Cerci to city rivals Milan.

“I’m not angry about Cerci, and Podolski is a good player,” Mancini told Sportmediaset.

The Nerazzurri are in the market for an attacking player, and look to be on the verge of completing a move for the German international, after missing out on Cerci to city rivals Milan.

“I’m not angry about Cerci, and Podolski is a good player,” Mancini told Sportmediaset.

“Podolski is one of a number of players we’re following, we’ll see what happens.

“As for Cerci, we never started negotiations for him, we looked at him, as many did.”

Inter will face champions Juventus when Serie A resumes, and Mancio warns that the Bianconeri are even stronger than last year.

“Last year when I beat Juventus when I was in charge of Galatasaray the situation was different.

“The Juventus game can be a game which allows us to gain even more confidence in ourselves. It could be a ‘key’ game for us, but they’re the favourites, and the table doesn’t lie.

“Juventus are stronger but anything can happen in a football match.”

The former Manchester City manager also spoke about transfer targets, admitting that the Beneamata are interested in Lassana Diarra.

“The former Real Madrid man is a very good player,” Mancini hinted.

“There are problems between him and Lokomotiv Moscow. We’ll see.”
