Inter‘s chiefs will soon sit down with Samir Handanovic and Ivan Perisic to discuss their contract extensions, but according to reports in Italy, both players must accept a pay cut to stay at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri have recently extended with Lautaro Martinez, Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolò Barella and Federico Dimarco.

Marcelo Brozovic should be the next one. According to multiple reports in Italy, the Croat international has reached an agreement over a new deal until 2026.

His current contract runs out in June and the same is true of those of Samir Handanovic and Ivan Perisic.

Inter will soon announce the signing of Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana as a free agent for the summer, but hope Handanovic stays at the Stadio Meazza until 2023 to help Onana settle in.

According to Calciomercato.com, the veteran goalkeeper will be offered a substantial pay cut and the same strategy will be used with Perisic.

The Croatia international doesn’t want to earn less than his current €5.5m, but Inter seem unlikely to offer more than €3.5m per season.

The Serie A giants have already signed a possible replacement for Perisic, having welcomed Robin Gosens from Atalanta in January.

Perisic will probably take time and the Nerazzurri are in no rush to know his final decision.

5 thought on “Handanovic and Perisic must take pay cut to stay at Inter”
  1. Handa will do it for sure, he is the Inter captain.

Ivan will probably look for a better deal at this stage of his career, especially with Gosens coming in.

  2. @Samy Ibrahim… he will back from his inuury by the end of this MONTH and Perisic will stay with us at least until end of this year, so we are covered and there is no problem.

However… Chiesa who was your best performer, is injured until end of this YEAR. LOL

You see the difference? So think before open your mouth.

  3. Inter seem to be in good hands although we know calcio can change very fast.

It’s all down to Suning & their operations. You can’t cut too many corners.

    It’s been a step-by-step process,
    Spalletti, Champions League
    Conte, Scudetto
    Inzaghi, continuity

    And it’s worked very well

Bringing in Marotta is a big part of this. It has clearly been a successful plan carried out & continues to be played out with intelligent decisions being made that transfers where it all counts, the pitch

After years and years of problems across the board, great to see a special club back where they belong

Sustaining it though & even improving it for Europe will be the greatest challenge
