Milan met with Sassuolo to discuss Davide Frattesi today, while Inter are also reportedly still trying to convince Marcus Thuram to move to their side of San Siro.

The Derby Della Madonnina was already played five times this season between Serie A, the Supercoppa Italiana and the Champions League semi-final, but it is still going on in the transfer market.

The two clubs are doing battle for the same targets and going directly head-to-head.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan director Giorgio Furlani met with Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali today to discuss Frattesi.

Inter had been the absolute favourites to sign the Italy international, but the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United seems to have changed the hierarchy.

The Nerazzurri had agreed to a deal for €35m plus young striker Samuele Mulattieri.

It is reported that Milan are not prepared to pay €40m for Frattesi and therefore are not yet to be considered the favourites, especially after Frattesi told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he has already decided his next club.

Inter are also challenging Milan for Thuram, as while Sky Sport Italia are confident a deal is imminent after he rejected PSG, Sportitalia warn this is more than just an attempt to irritate their opponents.

After all, the Nerazzurri had approached Thuram back in January when that move was scuppered by an injury.

Thuram is a free agent, so there is no need to work out terms with a club, and he is keeping everyone waiting.
