Marcelo Brozovic suffered a hamstring injury during the international break and Inter are concerned that he might be unavailable for a significant period of time.
The 29-year-old Croatian midfielder suffered the issue in the 18th minute of a Nations League clash with Austria last week, forcing him off the pitch with a grimace on his face. Brozovic is a key part of Simone Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri squad and his injury means new arrival Kristjan Asllani will be thrust into action.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportmediaset, Inter do not want to rush Brozovic back from the hamstring injury, especially with the World Cup in Qatar just on the horizon, and there are concerns that he could be unavailable at club level until after the tournament.
There are no certainties yet regarding his recovery time and he could still appear for the Nerazzurri before heading off to Qatar, but the club have to wait and see how his treatment process progresses.
