Recent reports linked Juventus with a move for Ramy Bensebaini and now Inter have reportedly emerged to compete for the Borussia Monchengladbach left back.
The Bianconeri are looking to pick up a new left back in the January transfer window after Alex Sandro’s failure to convince Massimiliano Allegri recently. The Turin side have also been linked with a move for Benfica’s Alejandro Grimaldo, but the Italian coach is not particularly keen on the Spaniard.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus will face competition from Inter for Bensebaini’s signature, with the Nerazzurri holding a slight advantage. The Milanese club have been following the Algerian for a little while now, even before their acquisition of Robin Gosens, and talks have been ongoing with the 27-year-old’s entourage since then.
Inter still have a free non-EU player slot, something Juventus don’t have, giving them a slight edge. Bensebaini is comfortable playing in a three-man defence but truly shines in a four-man backline.
His current contract expires with Borussia Monchengladbach next summer and he could be signed in January for around €5-8m. The Algerian left back earns around €2.2m net per season, making him an accessible option for both clubs.
