Reports suggest that Inter are in constant contact with Empoli as they work to agree a deal for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The 26-year-old Italian shot stopper shined in Tuscany this season, overperforming with the Azzurri. His underlying numbers prove his skills, being the best performing goalkeeping in Serie A with more than 30 starts with his post-shot expected goals minus goals allowed (PSxG+/-) of 2.9, higher than Lazio’s Ivan Provedel, Napoli’s Alex Meret and Juventus’ Wojciech Szczesny.

Vicario is expected to make the jump to a top side in the coming months and has been linked with a number of interested parties, ranging from Tottenham and Roma to Lazio and Bayern Munich.

As reported by TMW, Inter are working hard to try and agree a deal with Empoli for Vicario, keen to add the talented goalkeeper to their squad.

After the Champions League final against Manchester City, which kicks off on June 10, the Nerazzurri will look to close out a deal for the 26-year-old Italian.
