The last few days have seen tension building within the Nerazzurri camp, as Coach Luciano Spalletti and the fans are frustrated at the difference between Perisic’s performances for Croatia and at club level.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim he is unmotivated since failing to make the Manchester United transfer go through over the summer and has been particularly irritable in training this week.

As Inter still need to balance the books to meet Financial Fair Play parameters, Perisic has emerged as the most likely candidate for the chop.

The Corriere dello Sport newspaper today suggests that the club is taking a hard line with Perisic and will drop him to the bench for this evening’s Serie A match with Torino.

Arsenal have so far proposed a loan with option to buy, or including Mesut Ozil as part of an exchange deal, but those are not plans that suit the Nerazzurri.
