Inter are set to welcome two of their injured players back in the next week or two, including Italy international Nicolo Barella, who will resume full training when the squad returns to training after the international break.
Simone Inzaghi has granted his squad members an extra day off on Monday while many senior members of the first-team group play their last matches of this international break.
Barella return date revealed as Buchanan also awaits Inter comeback
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Barella will resume full training with the rest of the available first team group when they get back on the pitch on Tuesday.
That means that he will be in contention to feature against Roma in Serie A at the weekend, and if he doesn’t start, then he might do against Young Boys in the Champions League next Wednesday. It’s a busy run of fixtures for the Nerazzurri, who will host Juventus in the Derby d’Italia after that.
Tajon Buchanan is also likely to return for Inter in the near future, although Sky report that it will take him a little longer than Barella to get back up to full speed.
The Canada international joined the Nerazzurri from Club Brugge in January and was afforded time to settle in, as he only featured in 10 league matches before the end of the campaign.
He then suffered a fractured tibia while away on Copa America duty with Canada over the summer, and he had been expected to miss around six months of action.
However, recent updates confirm he is progressing ahead of schedule and could return to training by the end of October, rather than the December or January timeline that had originally been feared.
