Reports in Italy claim Federico Dimarco has suffered a muscle injury, so he’s unlikely to be available against Manchester City and is a doubt for the Milan derby later this week.

Italy international Dimarco suffered a muscle injury during a 1-1 draw against Monza on Sunday night and is unlikely to be available against Manchester City on Wednesday.

Several sources in Italy, including Sky Sport Italia and Tuttosport, claim that the Italian full-back has sustained a slight injury to his right thigh flexor.

Although Tuttosport claims it’s just muscle fatigue, it’s unlikely that Dimarco will be available for the opening Champions League game of the season against Manchester City in two days.

As per Sky Sport Italia, the fresh injury means that Dimarco is also a doubt for the next Serie A game against Milan on September 22.

Dimarco, 26, has made four Serie A appearances this season, starting four games from four against Genoa, Lecce, Atalanta and Monza.
