Inter‘s Federico Dimarco has reportedly recovered from injury and will be available against Milan in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday.

The Italian left-back was seen limping in the closing minutes of the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw at Monza last weekend.

Although coach Simone Inzaghi initially said it was only a muscle cramp, the player was subsequently left out of the Inter squad that travelled to Manchester City for their Champions League opening game on Wednesday.

Inter receive Dimarco injury boost for Milan derby

Carlos Augusto replaced Dimarco in the European fixture, and he was the leading candidate to start in that position again for the Milan derby, but chances to see the Italian back at his post currently seem on the rise.

The 26-year-old Italy international completed a whole training session with the group on Friday, and if he manages to do the same on the eve of the match, Inzaghi is likely to give him a start, according to Sky Sport Italy.

Dimarco started the first four Serie A games for Inter so far, but he hasn’t been directly involved in a goal yet. Last season, he scored five times and delivered six assists in 30 league games.
