Sky Italia contradicts claims by Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent that the Inter captain hasn’t been offered a new contract, saying a €6m deal is on the table.

The Argentine striker has a €110m release clause in his contract, which is valid for the first two weeks in July.

The Nerazzurri are keen to raise or remove that clause, as well as getting Icardi to commit his future to the club.

Last night his agent, Wanda Icardi, insisted that the two parties are “very far apart” and “Inter’s offer doesn’t exist”.

Sky insists that there is an offer from the Beneamata worth around €6m per season, an increase of €1.5m on his current deal.

That may not be enough to convince Icardi and his agent though, as the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Edin Dzeko and Paulo Dybala earn more, despite the Inter captain being just as effective.
